Harps beat Lavey in All Ireland Semi Final
By admin • Nov 1st, 2008 • Category: Match Reports, SeniorThe girls are through to their third All-Ireland final in a row after they beat Lavey of Derry in the semi final by 1-10 to 1-8 in Casement Park in Belfast.
Louise Mahony hit 1-9 including 1-4 from play and sister Elaine weighed in with the other point after her return from travelling.
The Harps put in a powerful first half as they dominated the game and led 1-7 to 1-2 at the break. Lavey came more into the game in the second half and threatened to score a crucial goal on several occasions but solid keeping from Maeve Brophy and dogged defending from the full back line held them out.
