The under 12′s completed their group campaign with a close 3 point loss to O’Moores but they are still into the semi finals where they will play St. Brigids. The Semi Final is fixed for Tuesday August 24th.

The under 12s beat Portlaoise in their second game by 6 points.

The scorers were Avril Deegan and Stephanie O’Dea.

The next game is against Camross on Saturday the 17th.

The Harps under 12 Camogie Team beat St. Joseph’s by 9 points on Saturday in the first round of The County Championship.

The scorers were Avril Deegan, Meabh McNeill and Lorraine O’Dea.

The panel was Lorraine, Shauna & Stephanie O’Dea, Avril & Meabh Deegan, Fiona Donohue, Eimear Dunphy, Jenny Saunders, Elaine Spencer, Neasa McEvoy, Meabh McNeill, Rebecca Walsh, Aoife Murphy, Kate Campion, Aoife Phelan, Sinéid Cleere, Hazel Shortall, Aoife & Chloe Delaney, Niamh Lawlor and Caoimhe McCartney,

The will be playing Portlaoise next weekend in Round 2.

The under 11 team played in a Blitz in Lisdowney on Saturday and won 2 out of there 3 games, losing only to the hosts Lisdowney. The panel was Avril Deegan, Meabh Deegan, Eimear Dunphy, Molly O’Connor, Neasa McEvoy, Meabh McNeill, Rebecca Walsh, Aoife Murphy, Kate Campion and Evan Campion.

The Harps U12 girls played Camross in the County Final on Saturday 29th of August in Raheen. Even tough the Harps girls put up a hard fight Camross came out the winners.

The only team to beat the Harps team this year was Camross, which shows the talent coming through in the club of the future.

The Under 12 girls have reached the county final after beating St. Brigids by a point in a tight hard fought game in Ballacolla on Tuesday evening.

A point in the 1st half from Avril Deegan and a Goal in the second half from Shauna O’Dea was enough to win.

The girls now play Camross in the final

The Harps 5-2 v O’Moore’s 2-3

On the July 22nd The Harps under 12 Camogie Team played O’Moore’s in the county championship in Durrow G.A.A. grounds.

It was a good competitive game. The Harps got off to a great start and had scored 3 goals in the 1st half to 1 point from O’Moores. O’Moore’s came back out after half time and got themselves well back into the game by scoring 2 goals and 2 points, but the Harps girls answered with 2 goals and 2 points of their own to restore the gap. There was brilliant defending from the Harps backs led by the experience of Eimear Delaney and Rachel Bergin. Sarah Broderick was exellent in midfield supported
by Karina O’Dea and forwards led by Avril Deegan and Leah Dunphy played out of their skin.

The final score was. The Harps 5-2 to O’Moore’s 2-3.

Scorers for the Harps were Kate Doogue 3-0, Meave Phelan 1-0, Leah Dunphy 1-0, Sarah Broderick 0-1 and Avril Deegan 0-1.

Under 12 Championship Portlaoise v Harps

The Harps 1st game in the under 12 county championship. Portlaoise 0-1, The Harps 4-1.

The game was dominated by the Harps from start to finish. Laura Walsh got the 1st score of the match when she buried the sliotar in the back of the Portlaoise net. Portlaoise responded with a point which was to be their only score on the day. The score at 1/2 time was Portlaoise 0-1, The Harps 1-0. In the second half The Harps besieged the Portlaoise goal for most of the half. Eimear Delaney scored a lovely point from play and had a great game. But Kate Doogue who came on as a sub at 1/2 time made the biggest impression on the score with 3 lovely goals to her credit. It was a good display from the Harps under their Coach Ger Brophy and selector Mary Donaghue.

The final score was Portlaoise 0-1,The Harps 4-1.
